Matthew H. Leonard

Army Pfc. Matthew H. Leonard has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training (AIT).

During basic military training, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons qualification, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army doctrine, history, principles and traditions.

During AIT, the soldier completed the military police specialist course to acquire skills to provide combat area support, conduct battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations, and law and order operations. The trainee performed as a team member in support of battlefield operations, installation law and order operations and security of Army resources and installations.

Additional training included providing peacetime support to the military community through security of resources, crime prevention programs, and preservation of law and order.

Leonard is the son of Tonia Leonard of Cleveland.

He is a 2012 graduate of Bradley Central High School.

Levi A. Hall

Army Pvt. Levi A. Hall has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

Hall is the grandson of Bill Meres of Athens, and brother of Benjamin Hall of Cleveland.

He is a 2010 graduate of McMinn County High School in Athens.
