Laurel McFadden, an active member of First Baptist Church and the of the DAV Chapter 25, will be 90 years old May 12. The nonogenarian has lived in Cleveland since the 1970s, working as meat cutter for a number of independent grocery stores, the latest being Cook’s Food Store. Mr. McFadden has already begun planting his annual garden and enjoys working around the house, taking care of his chickens, cat and dog. Best of all, he still drives when needed, recently renewing his driver’s license, which is valid until 2018. Family and friends wil celebrate his birthday with a dinner on Saturday afternoon and he wil be recognized at his regular DAV meeting on Tuesday.
