Nancy Park Taylor, 89, widow of George Robert “Bobby” Taylor, passed away Thursday evening at Erlanger Medical Center.

Bobby Taylor was in the banking business in Cleveland for 65 years. He died in July 2010.

The Taylors were married in 1948. Nancy was the daughter of Cleveland Mayor Willard J. Park, and was born April 26, 1924.

According to Christy Griffith, senior vice president at the Bank of Cleveland, Nancy Taylor was a dedicated member of Broad Street Methodist Church where she was very active for many years.

“She was the matriarch of the Taylor family and devoted her entire life to raising her family,” Griffith said.

“Nancy was a very kind, considerate and loving person,” said Julian Sullivan, a parishioner of Broad Street Methodist Church. “She always placed her family and church first in her life and she will be sadly missed.”

Bobby Taylor was the founder of the Bank of Cleveland, which began business in 1987. Taylor began his banking career with Merchants Bank

The Taylors are survived by two children, Linda Burns and Scott Taylor, chairman and chief executive officer for Bank of Cleveland.

Fike Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements for the Taylor Family.
