Lady Wildcats earn softball sweep of Boyd-Buchanan

The Lady Wildcats successfully swept Boyd-Buchanan following a 9-1 victory on the softball field Tuesday evening.

Polk County started off the game with two runs in the first inning coming from Lydia Triplett and Lily Cuzzort, who was brought in by a single from Hannah Triplett.

The hits kept on coming in the second with the Lady Wildcats getting five more runs coming from Kaitlyn Williams, Lydia Triplett, Cuzzort, Emily Bates and Felecia Johnson.

The Lady Buccaneers got their first and only run in the bottom of the sixth.

Polk County extended their lead with another two runs from Cuzzort and Hannah Triplett in the top of the seventh.

The Lady Wildcats are now 17-12 and 6-2 in the District 5-AA, with their only district losses coming from Meigs County.
