Meigs skins Lady ’Cats again

BENTON — Following their first District 5-AA loss of the season to Meigs County on Wednesday, the Lady Wildcats found themselves bested by the Lady Tigers for the second day in a row Thursday.

Unlike its previous game where it was held scoreless, Polk County was able to get one run in its 6-1 loss to Meigs County.

The Lady Tigers struck first with one run in the first frame, with two more runs coming in the third inning.

The Lady Wildcats got their lone run in the bottom of the fourth, following another run scored by Meigs.

Lily Cuzzort’s double got her into scoring position and Hannah Triplett was able to drive her in with a single.

Meigs County got its final two runs in the top of the seventh. Polk will play host to Boyd-Buchanan on Monday.
