The James County Historical Society will meet for an unusual meeting on May 5 at 2:30 p.m. at Ooltewah Methodist Church in the Sunday school addition.

J.T. Shadrick and others from the Whitwell Coal Miners Museum will present the program. They have established and operated an excellent museum on a small scale. They will tell the history of the area’s mining and of the founding of the museum.

There is no charge. The meeting is open to the public.

David Knisley has said he wishes to ask two questions at the meeting and would like attendees to “come prepared to answer” the following: “Who is the oldest living person who was born in Old Jim County?” and “What are names and ages of any living persons who were born in Old Jim County?”
