Anyone interested in learning what the organization is doing in the community and how they can become involved should plan to attend.
In addition to the general branch business, officers will provide an update on the organization’s position on Cleveland City Councilman Charlie McKenzie. The Bradley County NAACP has not stopped working toward its goal of seeking McKenzie’s resignation.
Detective Carl Maskew with the Bradley County Sherriff’s Office will also provide information about human trafficking in Bradley County. He will share vital information that could help prevent someone from being victimized by this heinous crime.
According to the Bradley County NAACP, “Human trafficking is becoming an issue across the country. In our area, it’s also a concern because of the incidents on the rise in nearby cities. Though Bradley County has only seen a couple of incidents in the past several years, Knoxville and Chattanooga are two cities where incidents are on the rise.”
The material presented will be somewhat graphic and not recommended for children under the age of 18.
