The Rev. Clyde R. Clark Sr., 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday evening, April 15, 2013, in a local hospital.

He was the son of the late, Velma Ball Clark Wimberly and Claude Ray Clark.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy J. Follis Clark; son, David Scott Clark; and daughter-in-law, Sue Clark.

He was a graduate of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, and a graduate of the Victory Bible College in Tulsa, Okla. He was a retired minister with the Church of God with more than 50 years of service. He pastored in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma.

He was a licensed airplane pilot and he enjoyed traveling on his mission trips. He also enjoyed preaching and playing his tambourine. He attended the Redemption Point Church

Survivors include his daughters: Darlene Landreth and her husband, the Rev. C.E. Landreth Jr. of Ooltewah and Beverly Clark; and son, Clyde Ray Clark Jr., all of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Delores Doyle and her husband, Leroy, of Houston, Texas, Naomie Worster and her husband, J.C., of Corpus Christi, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. today, April, 18, 2013, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. C.E. Landreth Jr., George Moxley, Mac Streun and Kevin Wallace officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p. m. today at the funeral home.
