The Ocoee Middle School baseball Colts pounded out a five-inning, 10-3 win over Cleveland Middle on Wednesday at CMS.
An early lead went to the Colts, thanks to a first-inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate, on a groundout by Lawhon and a two-run single by Howell.
OMS pushed across one run in both the second and fourth innings. In the second, the Colts scored on an RBI single by Duggan that plated Blaze Benton.
Ocoee scored five runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Hunter Shamblin, a two-run double by Caleb Lawhon, a walk by Henley Headrick and a walk by Cody Duggan.
Nick Howell racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Colts. He singled in the first and fourth innings.
Andy Bunch got the win for Colts, allowing three runs in 2 1/3 innings. Bunch struck out three, walked three and gave up five hits. Reliever Matthew Pigg stepped in and held the Blue Raiders to only one hit. Pigg allowed no earned runs, walked no one and struck out one in his 2 2/3 innings of work.
The Colts roughed up Cleveland pitching with six hitters combining for seven hits, eight RBIs and nine runs scored.
