Nancy Rowena Pugh, was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Cleveland to the late Roscoe and Lenora Johnson.

She departed this life Monday, April 8, 2013, at SkyRidge Medical Center.

She graduated from College Hill High School in 1951 at the age of 16, and was retired from Duracell. She accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was a lifelong member of Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served as a member of the Missionary Society and the Young Adult Choir.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed many sports, including wrestling and was the unofficial chauffeur for the Cleveland Boys Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Lenora Johnson; brothers: William and Frank; sister, Ruby Blair; and grandson, Gregory (A.J.) Pugh.

She is survived by her children: Quanda (Van) Ross, Willie (Raphael) Cansler, Fred (Angela) Pugh, Terry (Trish) Pugh, Dale Pugh, Greg (Trenia) Pugh and Reginald (Melissa) Pugh; grandchildren: Kelli, Kristie, Christopher, Adrienne, Aaron, Lauren, Vanecia, Donovan, Roshanda, Casarae, Dorian, Bianca, Brandon, Dyron, Hannah, Reginald; eight great-grandchildren; other siblings: Minnie Asbury, Shirley Hickey, Roscoe (Shelia) Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Her body will lie in repose Friday, April 12, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., at Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair St. S.E., Cleveland Tenn.

Family will receive friends Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 1 until the 2 p.m. service time at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 254 Dooley St., Cleveland. Officiating will be the Rev. Teresa Oglesby, pastor. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.
