Janice Kay Geren, 60, of Georgetown, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at a Cleveland hospital.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1952, to the late James W. Ratcliff and Johnnie M. Ratcliff.
She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County and worked 30 years at Bradley County Health Department.
She was a 1970 graduate of Cleveland High School and attended Cleveland State Community College. She was of the Baptist faith.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Johnnie Ratcliff of Cleveland; the father of her children, Marcy Geren of Georgetown; two daughters: Meleah Geren and Michelle Anderson, both of Cleveland; sister, Deanna Thacker of Ooltewah; six grandchildren: Dakota Geren, Olivia Anderson, Phallyn Anderson, Mathew Ramsey, Trevor Ramsey and Colton Ramsey; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 8, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Standfield Baptist Church, located at 1549 No Pone Road in Georgetown.
A funeral s will follow visitation at the church at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Geren officiating.
Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dakota Geren, Mathew Ramsey, Olivia Anderson, Eddie Thacker, Dennis Mahoney, Dylan Chancey, Trevor Ramsey, Tanner Hunt, Justin Baliles, and Travis Petitt will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
