Carol Ann Woody, 63, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at a Knoxville hospital.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1950, in Sweetwater to the late Robert Filyaw and Geneva Hoover.

She was of the Christian faith, and enjoyed fishing and cooking. Above all things, that she will be remembered for, she enjoyed her family. She loved to be with her grandchildren and being a loving mother and wife.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one son, Troy Robert Stewart; and one grandson, Bradley Eugene McGuire.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Woody; mother, Geneva Hoover; two daughters: Theresa Nichole Pike (Gene), of Benton and Monica Annette McGuire (Michael), of Decatur; three brothers: James Filyaw, Dean Filyaw, and Roy Mullians; three sisters: Brenda Blair, Reba Carmley, and Pam Eppolito; five grandchildren: Christine Pike of Florida, Jason Pike of Benton, Jeffrey McHeely of Decatur, Alex McGuire of Cleveland, and Taylor McGuire of Decatur, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Stuart Park Baptist Church, 850 17th St. N.W, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the church with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Michael McGuire, Bobby Shelton, Gene Pike, Taylor McGuire, Jason Pike, Jeff McNeely, and Alex McGuire serving as pallbearers.
