Pauline Black Russell, born March 18, 1921, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, March, 20, 2013, at a local health care facility.
She was a member of Four Point Baptist Church and the Eastern Star Athenian 159.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude C. Russell in 2006; parents, Marshall and Grace Bell Raper Black; three brothers: Hayden, Lawrence and Malcolm; and one sister, Martha Jo Wade.
Survivors include her daughter, Claudette Howard Cochran of Cleveland; two granddaughters: Tammy Hadorn (Kenny) of Cleveland and Tracy Arp (Michael) of Charleston; two great-grandsons: Brandon Hadorn and Billy McClanahan (Amber); one great-great-granddaughter, Winter McClanahan, all of Cleveland; one sister, Othelia Gunter of California; sisters-in-law: Celia Black, Hazel Black, Loisteen Stapp and Rebecca Odom; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, March 22, 2013, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Revs. Ray Cheathem and Leroy Elliott officiating.
Interment will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Niota Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Laycock Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens.
