“Girl Talk” is a program designed to enhance communication between adults and their preteen daughters about sexuality, family values, decision-making and responsibility. “Girl Talk” is for mothers/caregivers of 9- to 12-year-old girls, and is unique to any other programs because it brings together women and their daughters into the same class in order to foster a bond that will hopefully last a lifetime!
The classes will be held on Thursday, April 4; Thursday, April 11; Thursday, April 18; and Thursday, April 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the UT Extension Office.
The first session will be for the moms and/or caregivers interested in learning more about this program. Moms/caregivers and daughters will attend the remaining three sessions together.
The class is limited to 10 mother/daughter pairs and pre-registration is required. The cost is $25 per mother/daughter. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
