Violet Bailey Creasman, 84, of Calhoun, joined her Savior and loved ones in her Eternal home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
She was born on May 7, 1928, in Bradley County. She resided in Calhoun and was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover C. and Nettie H. Bailey; her husband, Harold Creasman; son-in-law, Dale Goforth; infant granddaughter, Terri Ann Goforth; and great-grandson, Easton Smith.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Karen Goforth and Patti Smith and husband, Eddie, of Calhoun; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law: Brad and Katie Smith of Fairhope, Ala., and Kent and Cayci Smith of Cleveland; great-grandson, Forrest Smith of Fairhope, Ala.; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, March 15, 2013, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Oran Creasman officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, in the Calhoun Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Purser officiating.
Jonathan Jones, Tommy Jones, Bill Pittman, Michael Liner, George Shamblin, Ron Creasman, Barry Creasman, J.W. Lee and Max Carroll will serve as pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
