To The Editor:

I just read on the Tennessee littering website that the cost for the taxpayers annually is $14.8 million for picking up trash!

I was told from a Tennessee government employee that there is a “law on the books” requiring all open-bed trucks to secure any items from blowing out on the road, but it is not enforced.

Tennessee, like all the other states, is having financial woes and if they would enforce the laws, as opposed to warnings, this would help in more ways than one.
