The 55th Polk County RamP Tramp Festival benefitting the Polk County 4-H, will be held April 24 through 27 at the Polk County 4-H Camp in Greasy Creek. The festival committee is working hard to make this year’s festival a hit. On the 26th the Annual Bluegrass and Beans night will highlight two bands — County Line and Fredonia Bluegrass. The festival highlight will be the Ramp lunch served on the April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal includes fried ramp in eggs, whiteheads, streaked meat, cornbread and fried potatoes. Bluegrass and gospel music will be performed by Whistle Stop, Playing on the Planet, New Day and Reliance. The next Ramp Tramp planning meeting will be held Thursday at 6 P.M. at the Benton Municipal Building. Volunteers are needed to help the more than 500 4-H members in Polk County that attend camp McCroy each year.Everyone interested in volunteering and being a part of the festival are welcome to attend. The meeting will start with a pot luck meal. Proceeds from the Ramp Tramp Festival go toward the operation and maintenance of the Polk County 4-H Camp (Camp McCroy).
