OOLTEWAH — Scott Goins has been named executive director of the Life Care Center of Ooltewah facility under development at 5911 Snow Hill Road.

Goins most recently served as administrator at Grace Healthcare in Chattanooga.

“Scott’s previous experiences have perfectly aligned his talents to lead Life Care Center of Ooltewah,” said Mike Pigg, vice president of Life Care Centers of America’s Cumberland Region, which oversees the Ooltewah facility and nine others in the area. “He is focused on outstanding customer service and resident care as highest priorities.”

Goins was studying business in college in 1990 when he was involved in an automobile accident. After going through intensive physical therapy treatments, he decided that working in therapy was the path for him.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga., and his associate of applied science degree in physical therapy from Chattanooga State Community College.

Goins began his career in long-term care as a physical therapist assistant at Life Care Center of Athens, in 1996, and was promoted to rehabilitation services manager in 1999.

He served Life Care’s Athens and Cleveland facilities in that capacity before going on to earn his nursing home administrator’s license in 2006.

Goins served as an administrator for Signature Healthcare at its Cleveland, campus for several years and also served Signature as a regional rehabilitation operations officer, assisting in operations for 11 facilities across Tennessee and Kentucky.

“It’s great to be back with Life Care at this new, state-of-the-art building,” said Goins. “It’s a facility that sets the standard for the 21st century.”

Goins is originally from Rhea County. He currently resides in Hixson with his wife, Christie, and their two children: 4-year-old Luke and 2-year-old Ella.

Life Care Center of Ooltewah, the newest of Life Care Centers of America’s 26 skilled nursing and rehab facilities in Tennessee, is now admitting patients.
