CCS wraps up road season

The Cleveland Christian School varsity boys wrapped up their road season in Bryant, Ala., Saturday afternoon facing the Lions of Mountain View Christian Academy. The game was evenly matched from the tipoff and eventually ended in overtime with the Lions taking home the win 83-74.

“They must have shot 95 percent from the 3-point line this afternoon” remarked coach Larry Davis after the close game. “Mountain View just couldn’t miss.”

Xavier Jordan provided the highlights with his ninth double-double of the season with 28 points and 36 rebounds. Chris Reynolds dropped in another 24 points, Matthew Chambless added 11 and Matthew Mathis scored five points an had four assists. Three other players had two points apiece.

Both boys and girls varsity teams finish up the regular season at home this week with games tonight against Sale Creek at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday the varsity girls have a 6 p.m. meeting with Oakwood with the final games Friday vs. Knox Christian at 6 and 7:30.

The Crusaders will honor graduating seniors at Friday evening’s games.
