Courtney Johnson and Michael DeLay, both of Cleveland, were united in marriage in an afternoon ceremony on Jan. 5, 2013, at the Lee University Chapel.

The bride is the daughter of Ted and Maxine Johnson of Cleveland. She is the granddaughter of the late August and Zona Johnson, the late Charie and Minnie Bates and Willard and Frances Couch of Benton.

The bridegroom is the son of Mike and Melissa DeLay of Cleveland. He is the grandson of Faye DeLay of Cleveland and the late James DeLay and the late Cecil and Pansy Key.

The wedding was officiated by the bridegroom’s father, pastor of Blue Springs Pentecostal Church. Nuptial music was provided by Karen Archer, organist; and the Cleveland Woodwind Trio: Sandy Don, oboe; April Itson, flute; and George Olin, clarinet.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Ember Whaley of Cleveland as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Teague of Cleveland and Katelyn Richards of Atlanta.

Brandon Ellis of Cleveland served the bridegroom as best man. Groomsmen were Dustin Ellis of Cleveland and Jeff Judd of Meigs County.

Flower girls were Ashlee Allen, Emma Evens and Hannah Bowers, and ring bearers were Nathan Johnson, Jake Keith and Luke Keith.

The parents of the bride, along with Tanna Whaley and Brenda Branam, gave the reception at the chapel. Laurie Womac and Stephanie Reynolds with friends and family assisted and served. Bekah Keller kept the bride’s book.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., and Nassau, Bahamas, the newlywed couple is at home in Cleveland.
