Margot A. Smith, 84, a resident of Cleveland for the past 60 years and formerly from Germany, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in a local health care facility.

She retired from the office payroll department of Westvaco where she was employed for 21 years.

She was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Walter Schoenfeldt and Olga Horn Shoenfeldt; her two sons, David and Roy Lee McMahan; and daughter, Linda McMahan.

Survivors include her three children: Eddy and Tim McMahan of Cleveland, and Tony Smith of Moyock, N.C.; eight grandchildren; one sister, Anni Petzeke and one brother, Harry E. Schoenfeldt, both of Hamburg, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral home with Minister Steve Hall officiating.

Interment will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Jones, Earl Collette, Erich McMahan, Andrew Wainscott, Zachary Dunn, Andrew Dunn, Lynn Fowler and David Rayfield.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
