Emily Shelton recently made her second trip to the International Futurity in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was excited to show the home-bred stallion “Future Upper Classman,” who is also known as Ace. He received his barn name because he was born on the opening day of baseball season. He was born and raised at Black Fox POAs in Cleveland. Shelton describes Ace as “a smooth mover [who is] easy to be around and has a willing-to-try personality.” Purchased by Jimmy Parker in early 2012, both knew, based on the potential they saw in this young stallion, they would nominate him for the International Futurity as well as show him in Longe Line, Halter and In-Hand Trail throughout the show season. He won the 2-Year-Old In-Hand Trail Class with an almost flawless performance. He placed fourth in Longe Line and sixth in Halter. He was the High Point Champion 2-Year-Old In-Hand. Ace will be starting his riding career in early 2013 with Shelton doing the training.
