UT Knoxville 's dean's list for Fall 2012 honos local students

KNOXVILLE—The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has posted its dean's list for fall 2012.

Local students receiving the honor include:

Summa Cum Laude

Amanda Atkins, Steven Clukey, Robert Connell, all of Cleveland; William Hooper of Charleston;Catherine Jordan of Cleveland; Neva Lemoine of Charleston; Hannah Long, Moreland Madison, Brooke Newman, Barrett Thompson, David Turpin, Noah Tuten and Walter Westfield.

Magna Cum Laude

Sarah Childers, Erik Rutledge, Alexis Resides, Izabella Dasilva, all of Cleveland; Kelly Feehrer of Charleston; Joshua Gibson of McDonald; Roseanna Hamilton, Samuel Hoops, Richard Ness, Aleksander Klibisz and Alanna Wilkinson, all of Cleveland.

Cum Laude

Anna Bacon, Matika Berry, Karleigh Bloomer, Beverly Mazza, William Curtis, Heather Pell, Claire Pierce, Veronica Rubio, Jeffrey Rymer, Shah Saumya, Shelby Thaggard and Thomas Wasson, all of Cleveland.

To qualify for the dean's list, an undergraduate student must earn a term grade point average of 3.80–4.00 (summa cum laude), 3.65–3.79 (magna cum laude), or 3.50–3.64 (cum laude). Students must complete at least 12 credit hours, not counting work taken on a satisfactory/no-credit basis, to be eligible.

SEWANEE, Tenn. —The following local students have been named to the Dean's List at the University of the South for the Advent 2012 term:

Mitchell; Tyler Johnson of Harrison, the child of Beverly and Gene F. Johnson; Tyler Johnson of Harrison, the child of Gene F. Johnson; Tia Strickland of Harrison, the child of Sarah and Gordon K. Strickland; and Morgan Sehnert of Ooltewah, the child of Lisa and Dana C. Sehnert.

To earn a place on Sewanee's Dean's List, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale.
