William “Bill” Chadwick, 92, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2013, in a local health care facility.

He was the son of the late Georgie Henson Chadwick and Tom Chadwick. His wife, Frances Chadwick, his son, Melvin Chadwick, his grandson, Timothy Chadwick, his brothers, Charlie, Harley and Raymond Chadwick and his sisters, Annie Long and Eunice Cox, also preceded him in death.

He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II, and was stationed in Pearl Harbor. He retired from Magic Chef with over 18 years of service. He loved being outdoors and working in his vegetable garden. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Helen Fairbanks and her husband, Lester, of Charleston; his son, Jack Chadwick of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Cory Fairbanks, Shawn Fairbanks and his wife, Brooke, and Austin Chadwick; his great-grandchildren: Katie, Ross and Ashtan Fairbanks; his sister, Evelyn Carter of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted today at 7 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. from Sunset Memorial Gardens with Shawn Fairbanks, Cory Fairbanks, Austin Chadwick and Rob Chastain serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes which has charge of the arrangements.
