Newcomers of Cleveland

The Newcomers of Cleveland will meet on Monday at 9:45 a.m.

The meeting will be at Broad Street United Methodist Church.

At the library

“Battle of the Bulge: Family Affair” will be held Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room. Andrea Lockerby, Consolidated School health supervisor at Bradley County Schools, will take a look at healthy eating habits for the whole family.

Looking for a job? The Career Coach will be in our parking lot on Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This 45-foot bus contains staff and computers to assist you with resumes and job listings. Call 472-2163 to reserve a time with a job coach.

Classic movie night theme for 2013 will be “Famous Sleuths,” beginning with “One for the Money” on Jan. 29.

The first documentary to be shown in the new series will be the “Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping” which will be shown on Jan. 31 in the Community Room at 7 p.m.

Athens Area Council for the Arts

The Athens Area Council for the Arts will present “Reflections,” paintings by Mitchel de la Garza, to be on exhibit Jan. 15 through Feb. 25 at The Arts Center, 320 N. White St., Athens.

Also on Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m., the Black Box Concert Series kicks off its season with “The Georgia Songbird,” EG Kight, in concert.

In-Town Gallery

Thirty-six artists will be featured in the “Lucky 13” January exhibit at In-Town Gallery. Located at 26A Frazier Ave., between the Market Street and Walnut Street bridges, it is next to Coolidge Park on the north shore of the Tennessee River.
