Floyd Joe Cain, age 67, a resident of McDonald, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 28, 2012, in a local hospital.

He was the son of the late Barton Cross Cain and Nelson Cain; his sisters: Ella Stinnett and Flora Britt; his brother L. N. Cain and his half-brother, Floyd Cain also preceded him in death.

He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was retired with 39 years of service with Magic Chef, Maytag and Whirlpool as a molder and then a mounter. He was a member of the Molders Union. He loved fishing, working in his vegetable garden, raising horses and most of all spending time with granddaughter.

He was a member of the Bancroft Church of God, his church he dearly loved!

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Thompson Cain of McDonald; his sons: Gregory Cain and his wife Linetta and Benjamin “Ben” Cain all of McDonald; the light of his life, his granddaughter, Abigail Cain also of McDonald; his sisters: Margaret Baber of Harrison, Tenn., Martha Stinnett and her husband Ray of Cleveland and Linda Stinnett and her husband Carl of Benton, his brother, Alvin Preston Cain and his wife Diane of Cleveland and several special nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday morning, Dec. 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Mitchell Wilson and Rev. Sim Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be given. A Dove release will conclude the services. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Floyd Cain Family in care of Greg Cain at Tennessee Valley Credit Union. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Dec. 30, 2012 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
