Priscilla Lee Pugh Oyler, 73, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at home with her family by her side.
She was born June 16, 1939, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She was born second of the identical twin daughters to the late Guy and Okla Pugh.
She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church for many years where she was very active in her adult Sunday School Class. She was also the Queen Mother of her Red Hat Society. She loved people and was always ready to help others when she could.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Ernest N. Oyler Sr., and two loving children, a daughter Stephanie Oyler McCary and a son, Dr. Ernest N. Oyler, Jr. and wife, Maricela; four grandsons, Dallas and Leighton McCary and Sebastian and Adrian Oyler. She is also survived by her loving twin sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and John Reeves of Forest Hill, Md., and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 28, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with nephew and minister Marc Reeves and Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. A committal service will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home prior to the service.
A memorial service will be held at Centre United Methodist Church in Forest Hill, Md., on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at 3 p.m.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria VA 22312 in honor of Priscilla Oyler.
