Colts finish with win over CMS

The sixth-grade Ocoee Middle Colts finished their basketball schedule by winning their Christmas tournament over arch rival Cleveland Middle by a score of 41-31.

The two teams split regular season games setting the stage for this year’s tournament bragging rights.

The Blue Raiders jumped out to a 6-0 lead as the Colts struggled offensively. The OMS press finally started to click and the Colts coasted to a 12-7 first quarter lead. OMS led 21-13 at halftime.

Both teams were up and down in the last 12 minutes with both teams scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter to give the Colts the 10-point margin of victory.

Lorenzo White was instrumental in securing the win for OMS with a game-high 14 points along with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Kinsey Swallows, Patton Ford and Isiah Johnson finished with seven points apiece. Johnson also had five steals and five assists. The scoring was completed by Tyler Ferguson with six points and eight rebounds playing in a limited capacity after an injury against McCallie.

The Colts finished their season with a five-year best record of 21-2.
