THE CLEVELAND-BRADLEY Chamber of Commerce donated $7,500 to Cleveland State Community College’s Tennessee Small Business Development Center Wednesday. The chamber has donated money to the TSBDC for several years. “We’re very grateful,” said Dave Hudson, director of the local center. The Small Business Administration, CSCC, private donations, in addition to the local chamber, help support the local TSBDC. The 339 clients helped — for free — this year alone at TSBDC have invested $12,832,422 in area businesses and created 154 new jobs, said Dave Hudson, director of the TSBDC. At the donation event, from left, are Dr. Carl Hite, president of CSCC; Bernadette Douglas, executive vice president of the Chamber; Gary Farlow, president and CEO of the Chamber; Hudson; and Dr. Tommy Wright, vice president of finance and administration at CSCC. The money has been donated “because the chamber realizes the important role the TSBDC plays in the community,” Hite said. “The Chamber has a history of supporting small businesses. ... And a lot of our members are small businesses,” Farlow said. “TSBDC is important and the lifeblood of the business community.”
