Cleveland Police and the FBI are investigating a bank robbery which occurred Wednesday at the FSG Bank located on Keith Street at the Village Green. According to reports, the alleged robber wore a brightly colored outfit.

Just after 11:30 a.m., the lone robber entered the bank and demanded money, according to Evie West, information officer for Cleveland Police Department.

Lt. Mark Gibson of CPD’s Criminal Investigations Division said the suspect made both a verbal demand and presented a note to the teller.

Gibson could not confirm whether a weapon was produced during the robbery.

Officer Matt Brinkman described the suspect as being a black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a cap with a snakeskin pattern, large jacket (purplish in color), pink pajama pants and white tennis shoes.

The suspect was also wearing a black wig with gold highlights and a pair of women’s sunglasses.

Brinkman said the suspect left the building and fled with an undetermined amount of money. He left on foot toward 3rd Street.

City and Bradley County officers searched the area for the suspect. Officials combed the area, checking buildings and outbuildings on various properties, including Fort Hill Cemetery.

“We are waiting on bank officials to provide us with video surveillance footage of the incident,” Gibson said Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators have also searched for other video surveillance footage from businesses in the area.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery can contact CPD by calling 728-7311 and following the voice prompts.
