After a 13-day break, the unbeaten Lee men’s basketball team (7-0) returns to action this weekend as part of a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday in Walker Arena.

The Flames will host a strong Loyola University (New Orleans) on Friday and Spring Hill (Mobile, Ala.) is the guest on Saturday. Women’s play begins at 5:30 on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday. The men will follow each evening.

While the Lee men are 7-0, Loyola brings a solid 5-2 mark to town. Both clubs are 2-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference play. Lee won on the road at Auburn-Montgomery and Mobile. Loyola claimed wins at home against a good Emmanuel team and Brewton-Parker. The Wolf Pack dropped games to neighboring Southern University and Xavier (La.).

The Lady Flames (5-1) are coming off a hard-fought win at Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville on Tuesday. Lee is 0-1 in the SSAC and Loyola stands at 1-1. The visitors will feature one of the top players in the conference. Jasmine Brewer averages 18.5 points per game and 11 rebounds. She shoots a blistering 70 percent from the field.

While Lee is hosting Loyola, Spring Hill will be in Marietta to go against Southern Poly, and when the Flames are pitted against Spring Hill on Saturday, Loyola moves on down to Southern Poly in what is termed crossover weekend in the SSAC.
