One dies in crash in Meigs County

Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Travis Ryans is in charge of a fatal crash investigation which was reported in Decatur Thursday evening.

THP information has not confirmed the identity of the victims; however, the individual killed was reportedly from Bradley County.

THP information said two vehicles collided head-on after one of the vehicles was traveling in the wrong lane. The crash occurred near the intersection of Highway 58 and Highway 30.

Area media reports noted the crash occurred at 8:30 p.m. and several people were injured and transported to local hospitals.

- A Lauderdale Memorial Highway resident returned home to find someone had entered his house and taken a firearm.

According to a report filed by deputy Cru Ross of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Edward Adams said he found his back door open.

Adams told the deputy the door and a window had been tampered with.

At the time of the initial offense report, Adams stated he only knew of one item missing from his home.

A Keltec .40-caliber rifle had been taken from a closet.

Detective Rob Wilson of BCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division was notified of the theft.

The firearm was valued at $400.
