Gore became captivated with Southern gospel music at the age of 10 as he listened to a local radio station in his hometown of Clanton, Ala.
The dream of singing gospel music grew in his heart until he started singing at the age of 14. His next step was singing with The Southmen, a regional group based out of Birmingham, Ala.
Gore next joined the Wilburns from Carthage. The Wilburns’ songs featuring Tony’s voice started leaping up the charts. During his nine years with the Wilburns, Tony captured the hearts of Southern Gospel fans all across the nation.
Gore left the Wilburns to start Tony Gore and Majesty.
The first song they released, “Thank God” was a Top 5 song. Then they released, “I Know What It’s Like,” another Top 5 song. “I’ll Put On A Crown” was a Top 10 song, but is still the most requested song they have done.
“Meanwhile In the Garden,” stayed on the charts at No. 1 for three months. Recently, “Blessed Be The Name” also went to No. 1.
Gore is traveling and ministering with a new zeal, a new enthusiasm, and a fresh anointing as a solo artist.
