According to a report filed by officer Julius Porter, Bobby Camp III, 22, suffered a stab wound to his leg after he reportedly attempted to defend his father after an argument broke out between the Camps and two other men.
Larry Cherry, 31, of Brownsville, Ky., was charged with aggravated assault and his alleged accomplice — who was not named in the report — was charged with simple assault, according to officials with Cleveland Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
According to his report, Porter learned Cherry and the other individual allegedly “disrespected” Bobby Camp Jr.’s daughter-in-law as they walked through the parking lot of the Georgetown Road motel.
Camp Jr. asked the men not to make comments toward her and an argument broke out which led to an assault on Camp Jr.
Camp III attempted to defend his father and was allegedly stabbed by Cherry, according to witness statements in the initial investigation.
Cherry and the other suspect reportedly went to their motel room where Porter located them and found evidence of the alleged assault.
Camp III was taken to SkyRidge Medical Center for treatment.
- Cleveland Fire investigators are looking into what caused a structure fire at a Beaty Road residence.
Chrissy Teague of 480 Beaty Road informed officials her family was in the process of moving from the house.
According to CFD reports, the fire broke out in a bedroom of the residence.
The front door was reportedly unlocked and firefighters gained entry easily.
Teague told investigators they had only been gone from the residence for about an hour and when they returned, they noticed smoke inside the house and alerted the fire department.
Damage to the structure and contents was estimated at $5,500.
- An Orlando Drive resident reported the theft of a debit card.
According to a report filed by deputy Chad Nave of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Tracy Carrington said someone took the card earlier this month.
Carrington told authorities she had the card stored away and did not know who may have taken it.
No other information was available regarding the theft, according to the report.
- Deputy Doug Graham of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office filed a report for a Benton Pike resident who said someone had broken into his vehicle and taken several tools.
Jeffery Colloms said the burglary occurred Monday at a Harrison Pike address.
Colloms said someone entered his work truck and took a DeWalt hammer drill and battery pack, a Lennox tool bag and miscellaneous hand tools.
Colloms was able to provide serial numbers for the items.
The missing tools were valued at over $500.
Investigation is continuing.
- An outbuilding which suffered fire damage recently was also the scene of a theft afterward, according to a report filed by deputy Doug Boucher of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.
Delores Jean Keith said a table saw, hammers, wrenches, and air compressor and plumbing tools were among items taken from the building which was damaged by fire in early August.
Keith told the deputy that all of the tools were either Craftsman or Snap-on brand.
The missing tools were valued at $5,500.
