Gloria Trewhitt Lipps, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, while surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1944, and had lived in Cleveland her whole life.

Throughout her life she has many accomplishments which includes being a longtime educator in the local school systems. She was a member of the Cleveland State Phi Theta Kappa chapter, she always enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and she has been a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Kay Stutz; and nephew, Brad Stutz.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, Robert Lipps, but her greatest love and devotion was to her six beloved grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to her husband include sons: Jeff and wife, Dianna, and Matt and wife, Jenny; daughter, Amanda; grandchildren: Lyndsay, Troy, Jonathan, Emily, Tommy and Abigail; mother, Bana Clough and brother, Harry Trewhitt; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews to cherish her memories always.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church to honor her life and kindness along her walk through life.

The family will be receiving friends following a memorial in the church fellowship hall.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Gloria Lipps Scholarship, In care of CSCC Foundation, P.O. Box 3570, Cleveland TN 37320-3570.
