Katherine Borgia, 90, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012.

She was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and was raised in New York.

She was a resident of Signature Health Care for the past three years where she was very active and had many friends. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Vasso Pappas Kanelos.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Borgia; and daughter, Marie Indovino, both of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Michael Indovino of Cleveland and Donna Indovino and Frank Indovino, both of New York; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Olga Zito of New York.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, with Father Tom Moser officiating.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Grissom Funeral Home.
