Jerry R. North Sr., 80, of Loudon, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at his home.

Born in Cleveland, he was proprietor of several businesses over the years, which included North Neon Signs and Railroad Salvage.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Murray North; parents, Dana and Leatha Armstrong North; and son, Christopher Gale North.

Survivors include children and spouses: Joy North (Bill) Phillips of Georgia, Jerry Russell (Shirley) North Jr., Donna North Bridges Cruz, Pam (Herb) North Harper, Nancy North (Donnie) McCollister, Amy North (James) Jenkins, of Loudon, Susie North (Michael) Smyre of Florida and Rusty (Misty) North of Lenoir City; grandchildren: Billy and Katie Phillips, Jason Brown, Trey and Dusty McCollister, Alex, Curt, Ellen Harper, Aaron and Blake North; great-grandchildren: Chelsie Brown, Josh, Bethany, Ansley and Elijah North, and Emerson McCollister; sister, Patsy North of Alabama; and brother, Dana (Brownie) North Jr. of Cleveland.

The funeral will be conducted Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Thrasher officiating.

Interment will be in Loudon County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
