A house was reportedly damaged by vandals after someone entered it and turned faucets on, causing water to overflow onto the floors.

According to a report filed by deputy Melanie Johnson of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Susie Gilbert of Gilbert Real Estate said someone shattered a sliding glass door to gain entry to the house and overflowed the sinks.

Carpeting suffered damage as well as subflooring, according to the report.

Damage was assessed at $5,300.

- A pontoon boat was taken from and Eastview Terrace location where the owner had parked it and another vehicle.

A report filed by deputy Brandon Edwards noted Terry Underwood as the property owner.

According to his report, Underwood said he last saw the 20-foot Monark boat this weekend.

Underwood had parked the boat and a truck on property on Archer Lane, which had been struck by the April 2011 tornadoes. Underwood had bought the property afterward.

Serial number information was obtained and entered into the National Crime Information System computer database.

The boat, trailer and motor were valued at $6,500.

Investigation is continuing.

- Bradley County will hold driver’s license checkpoints beginning this weekend.

The checkpoints will be set up in random location in the county.

According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the driver’s license laws of the state.

All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
