The guest pastor for this special time of worship will be Gerald Scarbrough, formerly of Cleveland.
Gerald and Pamela Scarbrough live in McDonough, Ga. They have three children — Carter, 10, Kayla, 9 and Nathan, 4.
Scarbrough once served as Macedonia’s youth pastor from 1999 to 2002, and the Lord used him in the growth of many people who are now parents and leaders in Macedonia today, a church spokesman noted.
Over the past couple of years, God has given he and his family a strong desire for planting churches in the Atlanta area. As a part of this desire, they have spent much time in community outreach and Bible studies with both the lost and saved in their area.
Their church meets on Sundays and Wednesdays with a few families in the area who share the same vision.
Scarbrough states, “These days may be days of small numbers, but are ones with much love and passion for the Lord and for His church.”
The worship leader for Homecoming will be Eric Boston. Boston also served at Macedonia during the early 1990s. He has returned many times to lend his musical talents to the worship services at Macedonia.
“We are once again privileged to have him lead our worship for Homecoming 2012,” the spokesman said.
Boston and his wife, Linda, have two children — Ethan,14, and Emmie, 11.
Boston remains active in health care management and travels extensively to properties from Virginia Beach to Memphis and also runs a small architectural signage business. The family attends First Baptist Church and still considers Macedonia a special “home.”
He is a gifted singer and song leader, but more than that he seeks to honor Christ and always expresses his love for Macedonia, the spokesman explained.
Macedonia Baptist is located at 3119 Spring Place Road S.E.
