The Waterdogs defeated Fort Oglethorpe (Ga.) in their season opener by a 412-311 margin, but found the competition a little tougher Thursday evening.
In a nip-and-tuck battle that came down to the very end, the meet was tied at 166-all at one point before the Mosby Park squad was able to edge ahead for the 384-377 win.
The senior girls freestyle relay team of Taylor Pruett, Bristol Snider, Laura Kate Evans and Anna Harvey was able to secure the victory in the final race of the night.
The Waterdogs had 15 swimmers score in double figures with Julie Bryant leading the way with 19 points.
Julia Eavens and Johns Bryant helped out with 17 points apiece, while Snider posted 16 in the victory.
Davina Sharma, Luke Hunt and Tanya Sharma added 14 points each to the winning tally, while Pete Davis, Maya Sharma, Haley Buckner and Savannah Churlik each had a dozen.
Gareth Miller and Christian Torbett collected 11 points apiece, while Trey Bradshaw and Andre Parker garnered 10 each.
The Waterdogs (2-0) will travel across town tonight for a matchup with the Cleveland Aqua Tigers (1-1), which also defeated Red Bank (1-2) in a close match, 358-338, earlier this season.
The two local squads will hit the water at the Tinsley Park pool this evening at 6.
