She was the daughter of the late Berthie Stiles Nicholson and James Isaac Nicholson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Allen; daughter, Diane Allen; sister, Ruby Nicholson and Edith Goode; brothers: Parks Nicholson, Mark Nicholson, Charles Porter Nicholson and Lester Truman Nicholson; and her son-in-law, Troy Hicks.
She worked for a number of years at Dethro Laundry and Cleaners. She enjoyed gardening including roses and tomatoes and in her younger years she enjoyed fishing.
She attended New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Hicks of Farner and Lois Marie Goode of Cleveland; son, Doug Goode and his wife, Darlene, of Etowah; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Nicholson and his wife, Francis, of Trion, Ga.; special friends: Barbara McKinney and Betty Rutledge; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. A.C. Cooper officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with John Hicks, Timothy Hicks, Thomas Hicks, Isaac Hicks, Cullan Orr and Ryan McKinney serving as pallbearers.
A dove release will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
