Mr. and Mrs. Alan Peters of Cleveland announce the engagement of their daughter, Alana Megan, to Timothy James Burns of Cleveland, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burns of Maysville, Mo.

The couple will wed in a 10 a.m. ceremony on Aug. 25 at Black Fox Farms.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marie Elizabeth Simmons Harris of Marietta, Ga., the late James Ronald Henry Harris, Gwendolyn Hays Peters Edwards of Loganville, Ga., and the late Thurmond “Zilmon” Peters. She is the sister of Kelly Elizabeth Peters and Michelle Gwendolyn Peters, both of Cleveland.

Miss Peters is a 2010 graduate of Cleveland High School and attends Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of William and Frances Burns of Springfield, Mo., and Doyle and Judy Groom of Stanberry, Mo. He is the brother of Mitchell Burns of Maysville.

Mr. Burns is a 2010 graduate of Osborne (Mo.) High School and attends Criswell College in Dallas.

They are both members of the Southern Baptist Church.
