David W. May Jr. has submitted the required qualifying materials to the Election Commission enabling him to run in the upcoming Aug. 2 election.

May is seeking re-election to his current position as 4th District representative on the Cleveland City Council.

As a lifelong resident of Cleveland, May said, “Working for the city and being around the ins and outs of politics has given me an appreciation for the system. I try to address the day-to-day concerns of the people. If it is legal and I can help, I try my best to get the problem resolved.”

During his 16 years as the 4th District councilman, May has served on various boards, such as planning, community development, Habitat and the 911 Board. He has been involved on the state level with the Tennessee Municipal League and is currently first vice president.

David and Linda (Miller) May want to thank the people of the 4th District for placing their confidence in David to do the right thing.

“I look forward with great anticipation to the future growth and prosperity of Cleveland,” May said. “There is no better place to live and raise a family.”
