The Friends of the Library Association will hold its Book and Coffee Series on Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch with a review of the memoir by Neil White, “In the Sanctuary of Outcasts.” Bonnie Tollefson, retired librarian, FOLA member and volunteer, will review this book.

Daddy says he is going to camp but he is really going to a federal prison in rural Louisiana for bank fraud. But this is no ordinary prison. This isolated colony in Carville, La., was also home to the last people in the continental U.S. disfigured by leprosy. Neil’s journey begins with a mix of leprosy patients, nuns and criminals. This memoir reminds us all of what matters most. Join us for this interesting review. FOLA provides the coffee by Lasasters.

Teens who are interested in the library’s activities for them, TAG, will meet Monday at 4:30 p.m. in the Young Adult Area also known as the Teen Zone. Come to suggest things you would like to see offered by the library and meet other teens. Pizza will be served.
