If the Christmas spirit has not hit home yet, stop by the library this week to get your Christmas Spirit on. The week starts off with an Evening of Holiday Cheer on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room. Santa will be here, along with music from the Cleveland High School Renaissance Choir, a handbell performance and storytelling including “The Night Before Christmas.”
If that doesn’t put you in the Holiday mood, come back the next day, Dec. 13, from noon until 2 p.m. when one of Cleveland’s own pianists will perform Christmas music in the Community Room. Sip a bit of cider, sit back and enjoy.
The Cleveland Storytelling Guild will be having an evening of stories at the Craigmiles-Johnston History Branch that night, beginning at 7 p.m.
On Dec. 15, you can see all the behind the scenes action at a Library Tour beginning in the lobby at 4 p.m.
If you want, you can then stay for our showing of the “The Polar Express” at 6 p.m. Come with your family or friends dressed in your pajamas and bring that special blanket. Tonight there will be popcorn and hot chocolate served.
Teens, there are events planned just for you. Teens will meet on Dec. 19 in the Teen Zone — located upstairs — to make holiday gifts from recyclable materials.
Caroling for Cans will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 20. Carolers will be on North Ocoee Street and collecting canned, nonperishable food items for the Caring Place, Cleveland’s largest food bank. Be sure to bundle up and wear comfy shoes as you will be on foot. After caroling, hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
