He was a member of Hiwassee Union Baptist Church in Reliance.
He was the son of the late Joe Price and Bessie Hall Price and was also preceded in death by his grandson, Johnny Wilcox; brothers: Willie, Harley, and Ray Price; sisters,: Flossie Rymer, Bertha Parker and Stella Price.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Kirkland Price of Reliance; sons: James and wife, Debbie Price, of Benton, Larry and wife, Lisa Price of Etowah, Scotty and wife, Gelene Price, of Greasy Creek; daughters: Jerry and husband, Lloyd Morrow, of Cleveland, Brenda Wilcox and George Reeves, both of Benton, Wilma and husband, Sammy Thompson, of Ocoee, Rose and husband, Wade Wilcox, of Greasy Creek and Janice and husband, Sonny Standridge, of Delano; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Carl and wife, Leora Price, of Etowah; sister-in-law, Edna Price of Reliance; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. today, Oct. 3, 2011, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Williams officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, in the Hiwassee Union Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
