Stories on Sunday will be hosted by the Cleveland Storytelling Guild today from 2 to 3 p.m. in Cleveland Bradley County Public Library’s Community Room. This fun family event will feature the Guild’s best storytellers sharing an afternoon of some of their favorite stories.

THE FALL AUTHOR LUNCHEON given by The Friends of the Library Association will feature Susan Gregg Gilmore as guest speaker. The event will be held Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cleveland Country Club. Merchants Alley will interest shoppers at the luncheon with goods from several local merchants. LITERARY WEEKEND IN ETOWAH will be held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, the same weekend as the Etowah Arts and Crafts Fall Festival. A stage performance will be given on Sept. 30. Baby Bop Book Time will be held Sept. 22, 1 to 3 p.m., for children under 3. This group will explore books and music that encourage movement for the library’s smallest patrons. Sign up by calling the Children’s Room at the library.

THE COMMON THREADS QUILT SHOW will be held at Mount Olive Church of God Family Ministries Center, 3533 Harrison Pike, on Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the show go to keep the heritage of quilting alive and to club-supported charities. Family Story time at the library continues on Saturdays at 2 p.m., with fun for the whole family. The Teddy Bear Picnic will be held Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. until noon at the library. Children ages 4 to 7 are invited to attend this free picnic. Lots of fun activities are planned such as story time, crafts and refreshments. Come join us for a “beary” good time.

AN Estate Planning and Finance Seminar will be held Sept. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. Topics covered will include: Wills, Trusts and Probates, Tax-advantaged Solutions, and Wealth Management. Call Kelly at 473-2215 by Sept. 23 to reserve a spot or visit the Reference Desk on the second floor of the library.

The Museum Center at Five Points will sponsor a van trip to New Echota, the historic capital of the Cherokee in Calhoun, Ga., on Oct. 15. The cost of the trip is $40 for Museum Center members and $45 for non-members. Reservations and pre-payment are required by Oct. 11. CALICO SQUARES dance class will hold open enrollment Sept. 27 from 7 to 8 p.m. for square dance classes in the second-floor Community Room at Garden Plaza. No experience is necessary. This is a great couples’ time and a fun, easy family activity. Children are welcome, but anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 479-7790.
