Library corner: Teddy Bear Picnic to be Saturday

Lasaters Coffee and Tea will open Sept. 20 in the library lobby. Come try out our new Café with a free coffee or tea on this special opening day. Other items will also be available for purchase.

This is Lasaters first venture in a public service area. Patrons will be able to purchase award-winning coffee and food items daily from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday. The shop will be closed on Sundays.

Baby Bop Book Time will be held Sept. 22, 1 to 3 p.m., for children under 3. This group will explore books and music that encourage movement for our smallest patrons. Come ready to dance and tumble the time away. Sign up by calling the Children’s Room at the library.

Family Story time is continuing on Saturdays at 2 p.m. with fun for the whole family.

The Teddy Bear Picnic will be held Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. until noon at the library. Junior Auxiliary, with support from the Friends of the Library Association, hosts this children’s event each year.

Children ages 4 to 7 are invited to attend this free picnic. Lots of fun activities are planned such as story time, crafts and refreshments. Come join us for a “beary” good time.

Stories on Sunday will be hosted by the Cleveland Storytelling Guild on Sept. 18 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room. This fun family event will feature the Guild’s best storytellers sharing an afternoon of some of their favorite stories.

There will be an Estate Planning and Finance Seminar held on Sept. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Topics covered will include: Wills, Trusts and Probates, Tax-advantaged Solutions and Wealth Management. Please call Kelly at 473-2215 by Sept. 23 to reserve a spot or visit the Reference Desk on the second floor of the library.

FOLA’s Fall Luncheon with guest speaker Susan Gregg Gilmore will be held Oct. 6 at the Cleveland Country Club. Merchants Alley will again interest shoppers at the luncheon with goods from Arbonne International, Cleveland Therapeutic Massage, Daylilies, The Orange Blossom Boutique, The Painted Lady, Paisleys, The Red Ribbon, Sara’s Hallmark, The Shoe Tree and Silpada Design Jewelry.

Merchants Alley will open at 10 a.m. and continue after the speaker until 2 p.m. Tickets for this enjoyable event are $35.

All funds raised by FOLA will go to purchase books for the Children’s Department. Reservations can be made by sending your check payable to FOLA, 795 Church St., Cleveland, TN 37311.

Your check is your reservation. New this year, a table for eight can be purchased for $300 for reserved seating.
