- An 8-foot by 4-foot utility trailer was taken from a Hiwassee Lane residence this week.
A report filed by deputy John Davis noted the father of the victim saw the theft occurring, but didn’t know it at the time because he wasn’t sure if someone was being allowed to borrow the trailer.
According to his report, Scott Rose was the victim. His father Larry Rose saw the theft take place and called his son, asking if someone was borrowing the trailer.
Scott Rose told his father, “No.”
The senior Rose was reportedly getting mail from his mailbox when he saw a red Ford pickup truck pulling the trailer.
Davis and several deputies scoured the area in search of the suspects.
No dollar amount was listed regarding the replacement cost of the trailer.
