Mattie Lynn Lattimore-Mauldin, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

She was one of eight children born to the late James and Hattie Sue Lattimore.

She peacefully departed this life after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A member of Green’s Chapel Church in Charleston, she served in the sanctuary choir. While fighting a good fight, she always remained steadfast to her faith in God.

She was employed at Peyton’s for more than 15 years. She was a graduate of the Charleston High School Class of 1971, and she participated in basketball and cheerleading. She attended Edmondson Business College in Chattanooga.

She was an advocate in giving hope, was involved in the culture council at work, and participated in Relay for Life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hattie Sue Lattimore; and three siblings: Willie ‘Billie’ Marie Mack, James Frank, and Edward Lattimore.

Survivors include two sisters: Sue A. (Zeke) Westfield of Charleston and Lora J. (David) Campbell of Atlanta; brothers: Martin A. (Debra) Lattimore of Riceville and David Neal (Vanessa) Lattimore of Charleston; one aunt, Cleo Woods of Alcoa; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Green’s Chapel Church in Charleston with the Rev. Dr. Harry Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
